Our Roots
We have started to use the original logo/seal of the Agricultural Society that was adopted in May 1892. We will also be using the Okotoks Agricultural Society Brand on all our correspondence as well.
We would welcome any stories or pictures you may have of the OAS that we could share. Check out our "Our Roots" section to see a copy of the actual minutes where the seal was voted on....and keep coming back to visit....we are adding things all the time!
We are proud of where we came from and want to share it.
The 58 Founding Members
In the beginning.....It all began when 58 founding members of The Sheep Creek Agricultural Society paid the first annual subscription of one dollar on January 1, 1892 at Dewdney in the North West Territories.
The first recorded meeting of the Sheep Creek Agricultural Society took place on May 12th, 1892.
The design of the official seal was decided during that meeting on May 12, 1892.
